But you never know.Saints and Spinnershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04733517166056974501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3182698942264880539.post-57916763634620708892008-08-02T15:40:00.000-04:002008-08-02T15:40:00.000-04:00GM: Thanks. That's why I actually like to set my words to other people's tunes.

So often, the ends of lines in songs rhyme, and that can be tricky: on the one hand, locking yourself into a rhyme-scheme can reveal truths you would not have discovered otherwise, but on the other, it can force you to say things you don't really mean.

Check out the lyrics to Phil Ochs' "Changes." Each stanza has a rhyme in it, but it's so subtle that it gives the impression that the song just flows freely.Saints and Spinnershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04733517166056974501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3182698942264880539.post-59581890656676285532008-08-01T18:18:00.000-04:002008-08-01T18:18:00.000-04:00Nice work! Writing words for songs is tough but for me it's not the ability to find the words and write them, it's to strike up the courage and turn them into a song. Usually too worried on what people will think instead of just "letting go."Guitar Musingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14296706438719914537noreply@blogger.com
